Aval Payasam

Ingredients:

Aval – 1 cup

Milk – 2 cups

Condensed milk – ½ can

Sugar – ½ cup

Ghee – 1 tablespoon

Broken cashews – 1 tablespoon

 

Serves: 3 to 4

 

Method:

  1. Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and fry cashews till golden brown.
  2. Remove cashews from the ghee and add aval, fry till golden brown.
  3. Add milk to the roasted aval and allow boiling till milk rises.
  4. Add sugar and allow further boiling for 5 mins.
  5. Add condensed milk and allow to boil for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Garnish with roasted cashews and serve hot.
