Masala Idli

Makes : 2 serves

Ingredients:

Left over idlis – 6

Onion – 1

Idli milagai podi – 2 teaspoons

Curry leaves – 5 or 6

Coriander leaves – 1 teaspoon (finely chopped)

Roasted peanuts – a handful

Oil – 2 teaspoons

Salt – 1 teaspoon

Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon

Mustard seeds – ½ teaspoon

Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon

Method:

  1. Cut idlis into small cubes.
  2. Heat oil in non stick kadai.
  3. Add mustard seeds & cumin seeds, allow spluttering.
  4. Add curry leaves, onions, salt & turmeric powder.
  5. Sauté for 3 minutes.
  6. Coarsely grind the peanuts.
  7. Add cut idli cubes, idli milagai podi, coarsely ground peanuts & mix well.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot.
