Simple Murukku/Thenguzal


Ingredients:

Rice flour – 1 cup

Roasted urad dal flour – 3 teaspoons

Butter – 3 teaspoons

Hing – a pinch

Salt – ¾ teaspoon

Black sesame seeds – ½ teaspoon

Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon

 

Method:

  1. Mix together all ingredients except butter.
  2. Heat butter until it melts and add to flour mixture.
  3. Add water little by little to make dough (neither too stiff nor too loose).
  4. Make big lemon sized balls and with the help of murukku mould press onto hot oil and fry till golden brown.
  5. Drain onto paper towels.
