Channa Sundal


Ingredients:

Channa (chick peas) – 1 cup

Salt – 1 teaspoon

Coconut (grated) – 4 teaspoons

Special masala powder – 2 teaspoons

Hing – ¼ teaspoon

Oil – 1 teaspoon

Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon

Green chilli – 1 (finely chopped)

Ginger – ½ inch piece (finely chopped)

Curry leaves – 10

Method:

  1. Soak channa for 6 to 8 hours.
  2. Cook with salt for 2 to 3 whistles in a pressure cooker.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds & allow spluttering.
  4. Add green chilli, ginger, hing, curry leaves.
  5. Add cooked channa, special masala powder, coconut & mix well.
  6. Can be served a s a nutritional evening snack.
