Spicy Spring onion chutney


Spring onion – 1 sprig

Garlic – 2 cloves

Green chillies – 4

Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon

Salt – 1 flat teaspoon

Oil – 1 teaspoon


Oil – 1 teaspoon

Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon


Makes: 1 cup



  1. Heat oil, add cumin seeds, chopped green chillies, chopped garlic and fry until golden brown.
  2. Add chopped spring onions and saute for few minutes (until they start to shrink in size)
  3. Allow this to cool.
  4. Grind to past in mixer grinder adding salt.
  5. Add tempering on top and serve as accompaniment to dosa/idli/rotis.
