Vendaikai Curry


Ingredients:

Vendaikai – ½ kg

Chilli powder – ½ teaspoon

Salt – 1 ½ teaspoon

Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon

Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon

Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon

Oil – 3 teaspoons

Besan – 2 teaspoons

Hing – ¼ teaspoon/ a pinch

Special masala powder – 2 teaspoons

Method:

  1. Heat oil in kadai, add mustard seeds & allow spluttering.
  2. Add cumin seeds & hing.
  3. Add cut vendaikai, chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt & mix well.
  4. Keep stirring occasionally till vendaikai looks cooked.
  5. Add besan & special masala powder, fry for 2 more minutes.
  6. Serve hot with rice & rasam/sambar.
