Chilli Paneer


Ingredients:

Paneer cubes – 2 cups

Capsicum – 1 (cut into cubes)

Big onion – 1 (cut into cubes)

Green chillies – 2 (cut lengthwise)

Salt – ¾ teaspoon

Soya sauce – 1 tablespoon

Tomato sauce – 2 teaspoons

Oil – 2 ½ tablespoons

For Marinating:

Flour – 1 tablespoon

Corn flour – 1 tablespoon

Salt – a pinch

Crushed pepper – 1 teaspoon

Grind together:

Ginger – 1 inch piece

Garlic – 1 pod

Green chillies – 2

Method:

  1. Mix together ingredients for marinade, add little water to make a loose paste.
  2. Soak the paneer cubes in marinade for half hour.
  3. Heat 1 ½ tablespoons of oil in a shallow pan and arrange paneer cubes.
  4. Turn them over as sides turn golden brown until all sides done & keep aside.
  5. Heat the remaining tablespoon of oil, add green chillies, onions and capsicum and cook for a couple of minutes.
  6. Add the ground paste and after a minute turn the flame to high and add soya sauce and tomato sauce, stir for about 20 to 30 seconds.
  7. Turn the flame to medium and add paneer cubes, salt and fry for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  8. Could be served as a starter or with fried rice.
