Cheese Paniyaram

A great after school snack which kids would love to have...


Idli batter – 1 cup

Grated cheese – ¼ cup

Grated carrot – slightly less than ¼ cup

Pepper powder – ½ teaspoon

Oil - 2 to 3 teaspoons

Makes: 7 pieces


  1. Add grated carrots, grated cheese & pepper powder to the idli batter, combine well.
  2. Divide and spread a teaspoon or two of oil into the 7 holes.
  3. Fill the holes with batter and keep closed until the top surface looks cooked. (keep checking occasionally)
  4. Turn the paniyarams over to the other side & cook for a minute or 2.
  5. Serve with tomate sauce.
