Oats Paruppu Podi

Makes: Approx. 100 grams

Ingredients:

Oats – 1 cup (rolled oats)

Tuar dal – ½ cup

Pepper – ½ tablespoon

Cumin seeds - ½ tablespoon

Salt – ¾ teaspoon

Curry leaves – 10 leaves

Red chilies – 4 to 6 (depending on your spice levels)

Hing – ½ teaspoon

Oil – 1 teaspoon

Method:

  1. Dry roast oats until golden brown.
  2. Roast tuar dal, pepper, cumin seeds, curry leaves and red chilies with a teaspoon of oil.
  3. Allow ingredients to cool down completely and grind along with hing and salt to coarse or fine powder as required.
