Sukha Soya

Makes : 4 serves

Ingredients:

Soya chunks – 2 cups

Salt – 1 ½ teaspoons

Onions – 2

Tomatoes - 2

Grind coarsely:

Garlic – 2 cloves

Ginger – 1 inch piece

Powders:

Chilli powder – 1 teaspoon

Coriander powder – 2 teaspoons

Garam masala powder – 1 teaspoon

Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon

Tempering:

Oil – 2 teaspoons

Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds.
  2. Add the ground paste & sauté for a minute or two.
  3. Add finely chopped onions along with powders mentioned, saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Add finely chopped tomatoes and salt, sauté till tomatoes melt and blend nicely with the mixture.
  5. Keep soya chunks immersed in hot water for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Squeeze out excess water & add the chunks.
  7. Sauté for 5 to 7 minutes in low flame stirring every 2 mins.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot.
