Dal
Ingredients:
Tuar dal – ½ cup
Moong dal – ½ cup
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Oil – 1 teaspoon
Salt – 2 teaspoons
Garlic – 1 piece (finely chopped)
Ginger – ½ inch piece (finely chopped)
Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
Chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
Masala powder – ½ teaspoon
Kasoori methi – 1 teaspoon
Onion – 1 (chopped)
Tomato - 1 (chopped)
Coriander leaves – 2 teaspoons (finely chopped)
Method:
1) Cook dals with adequate water in a pressure cooker.
2) Heat oil in pan add cumin seeds, ginger & garlic.
3) Add onion and all powders mentioned, sauté for a minute.
4) Add tomato & then add salt, sauté for 2-3 mins until tomato pieces melt & blend nicely.
5) Dilute dal to required consistency.
6) Add the cooked dal & allow to boil for a few minutes.
7) Garnish with kasoori methi & coriander leaves.
