Cheesy Bread Pakoras

Makes : 8 serves

Ingredients:

Bread – 4 slices

Cheese singles – 4 slices

For the filling:

Potatoes – 2

Chilli powder – ¼ teaspoon

Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon

Salt – ½ teaspoon

For the outer covering:

Omam (ajwain) – ½ teaspoon

Besan – ¾ cup

Rice flour – ¼ cup

Salt – ½ teaspoon

Hing – ¼ teaspoon

Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon

Water – 1 ½ cups

Green chutney – 4 teaspoons

Method:

  1. Cut each bread slices & cheese diagonally into 4 pieces.
  2. Boil & mash the potatoes.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients mentioned under filling with the mashed potatoes, mix well & keep aside.
  4. Mix all ingredients thoroughly mentioned for the outer covering to a consistency neither too thick nor too thin.
  5. On one piece of bread apply green chutney, a layer of potato mix and a slice of cheese.
  6. Close it with another piece of bread.
  7. Dip it into the batter; ensure all the sides are dipped fully.
  8. Place into tawa & drop a teaspoon of oil around.
  9. Turn around & toast till done, ensure that all sides are also toasted.
  10. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
