Black eyed peas – a handful
Salt – 2 teaspoons
Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon
To grind:
Coconut – ½ cup
Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon
Pepper – ½ teaspoon
Tempering:
Coconut oil – 1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds – ½ teaspoon
Red chillies – 2
Curry leaves - 10

- Soak the black eyed peas for 2 or 3 hours.
- Boil the chenai & black eyed peas till cooked with salt & turmeric powder.
- Add the ground paste & allow boiling for 5 minutes.
- Heat coconut oil & add the ingredients mentioned under seasoning.
- Add the seasoning & serve hot.
