Potato Masala

Potato – ¼ kg
Onion (big) – 1
Green peas - 100 gms
Curry leaves – 5
Coriander leaves – 1 teaspoon (finely chopped)
Chilli powder – ½ teaspoon
Garam masala powder – ¼ teaspoon
Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder –1 teaspoon
Green chillies – 3 (cut into halves)
Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon
Oil – 1 teaspoon
Besan – 1 teaspoon
Kasoori methi – 1 teaspoon

- Cut potatoes into halves
- pressure cook potatoes & peas for 2 to 3 whistles with ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder.
- Once cooled, peel skin & mash potatoes coarsely.
- Heat oil in a non-stick kadai, add cumin seeds.
- Add curry leaves, green chillies and onions.
- Add all the powders mentioned & sauté till onions transparent.
- Add mashed potatoes & a tumbler of water.
- Allow boiling for 3 minutes.
- Paste besan with 1/4 tumbler of water & add.
- Allow boiling for 2 more minutes.
- Garnish with kasoori methi & coriander leaves.
- serve hot with poori/chappathis.
