Bread & Channa Upma

Makes : 2 serves

Ingredients:

Bread – 5 slices

Salt – ¾ teaspoon

Corriander powder – ½ teaspoon

Garam masala powder – ¼ teaspoon

Onion – 1

Tomato – 1

Channa – a handful (boiled)

Oil – 2 teaspoons

Mustard seeds – ½ teaspoon

Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon

Grind:

Green chillies – 2

Ginger – 1 inch piece

Garlic – 1 big or 2 small clove

Curry leaves – 6


Method:

1. Finely chop onions, tomatoes & cut bread slices to small squares.

2. Heat oil in a non-stick kadai.

3. Add mustard seeds & allow spluttering.

4. Add cumin seeds & the ground mixture.

5. Sauté for a minute.

6. Add onions, corriander powder, garam masala powder.

7. Add tomatoes, salt & sauté till tomatoes melt.

8. Add boiled channa & sauté for a minute.

9. Add cut bread pieces & fry for 2 more minutes.

10. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot.

Optional: 1 cup of finely chopped vegetables can also be added making it more healthier.
