Raw Banana Poriyal

Vazaikai (Raw Banana) – 2
Oil – 2 teaspoons
Mustard seeds – ½ teaspoon
Cumin seeds – ¼ teaspoon
Sambar powder – ½ teaspoon
Salt – 1 ½ teaspoon
Hing – ¼ teaspoon
Coconut oil – 1 teaspoon
Besan – 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves - 10
Roast & grind:
Channa dal – 1 teaspoon
Urad dal – 1 teaspoon
Corriander seeds – 2 teaspoons
Sesame seeds – 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds – ¼ teaspoon
Red chillies – 2
Method:
Method:
- Cut Vazaikai into small cubes.
- Heat oil in a non stick kadai.
- Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds & allow spluttering.
- Add hing, curry leaves & then the cut vazaikai cubes.
- Sprinkle a handful of water & keep closed for 3 to 5 minutes till pieces get soft (but not mashy).
- Add the ground powder, besan & mix well.
- Keep frying in low flame till it gets crisp.
- Add teaspoon of coconut oil & fry for one more minute.
- Garnish with curry leaves & serve hot with sambar/rasam with rice.
