Rajma Masala

Makes : 4 serves

Ingredients:

Rajma – 2 cups

Onions – 2 (big)

Tomato – 3 (medium)

Salt – 2 teaspoons

Oil – 1 teaspoon

Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon

Corrinader leaves – 3 teaspoons (finely chopped)

Powders:

Chilli powder – 1 teaspoon

Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon

Coriander powder – 2 teaspoons

Garam masala powder – ½ teaspoon

Grind coarsely:

Green chillies – 2

Garlic – 1 pod

Ginger – ½ inch piece

Method:

  1. Soak rajma overnight.
  2. Pressure cook soaked rajma for 3 to 4 whistles.
  3. Heat oil in a non-stick kadai.
  4. Add cumin seeds & coarsely ground paste, sauté for a minute.
  5. Add fine chopped onions & powders mentioned, sauté for 3 to 4 minutes.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes & salt, sauté until the tomatoes melt & blend.
  7. Add the cooked rajma & sauté for 3 more minutes for the ingredients to blend well.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot with roti’s.
