Oats Adai

Makes: 8 adais

Ingredients:

Oats – 1 ½ cups

Idli rice – ½ cup

Channa dal – ¾ up

Tuar dal – ¾ cup

Red chilies – 3

Hing – ¼ teaspoon

Salt – 2 teaspoons

Onion – 1 (finely chopped)

Curry leaves – 10

Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon

Oil – 8 teaspoons

Method:

  1. Soak dals (together) and rice separate for 5 to 6 hours
  2. Powder oats in mixer grinder.
  3. Grind rice together with red chillies to coarse paste.
  4. Grind the dals together to a coarse paste.
  5. Mix both along with powdered oats,hing, salt, turmeric powder, chopped curry leaves and finely chopped onions.
  6. Heat dosa tawa & pour and spread thick.
  7. Use 1 teaspoon of oil for each adai.
  8. Serve hot with avial/jaggery/butter/more kuzambu.
