Peas Masala

Makes : 4 serves

Ingredients:

Shelled peas – 2 cups

Onions – 2 (finely chopped)

Tomatoes – 3 (finely chopped)

Coriander leaves – 3 teaspoons (finely chopped)

Oil - 2 teaspoons

Salt – 1 ½ teaspoons

Grind to paste:

Ginger – ½ inch piece

Garlic – 2 cloves

Green chilli – 1

(Optional : Coriander bunch stem – a handful)

Powders:

Chilli powder – ½ teaspoon

Coriander powder – 2 teaspoons

Garam masala powder – ½ teaspoon

Method:

  1. Boil the shelled peas till just cooked.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick kadai.
  3. Add the ground paste & sauté for a minute.
  4. Add chopped onions & then all powders mentioned.
  5. Add tomatoes, salt & sauté till tomatoes melt & blend.
  6. Add boiled peas & cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Garnish with corriander leaves & serve hot with rotis/chappathis.
