Crispy Vadai

Makes: 10 vadas approx.

Ingredients:

Urad dal – 1 cup

Tuar dal – 2 teaspoons

Salt – 1 teaspoon

Hing – ½ teaspoon

Curry leaves – 10

Green chilli – 1

Oil – to deep fry vadas

Method:

  1. Soak urad dal & tuar dal together for 6 to 8 hours.
  2. Drain excess water, add the rest of the ingredients & grind to fine paste in mixie.
  3. Try grinding without adding any water or use ¼ tumbler of water.
  4. Keep this in freezer for ½ hour.
  5. Heat oil in a deep kadai.
  6. Have a bowl of water.

  8. Drop it in hot oil.
  9. Fry until golden brown.
  10. Place vadas on a plate with tissue paper to drain excess oil.
